It's a live-music kind of weekend. Ladera kicks it off tonight, the Lake hosts a chart-topping headliner Saturday, and Rancho closes it out under the stars Sunday. Grab the low-back chairs — here's the plan.

🎸 Tonight (Fri) — Ladera Ranch Town Green. The Mighty Untouchables bring Motown and Top-40 to the Town Green, 6:30–8:30 p.m. Free and family-friendly (28801 Sienna Pkwy); regulars stake out the grass early, so come a little before 6.

🎤 Saturday — Lake Mission Viejo. Rachel Platten — yes, "Fight Song" — headlines North Beach at 7 p.m. One access note: the Lake is members + invited guests only, and there's no public ticket. Guests have to come with a member (guest passes are limited per household). If you're not a lake family, save your energy for Sunday.

🎶 Sunday — RSM Central Park. Wayward Sons take the Central Park amphitheater, 6–8 p.m. Free and open to everyone, with food trucks and a beer & wine garden — the most public-friendly show of the weekend.

🧺 Markets: Mission Viejo Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (25282 Marguerite Pkwy); Ladera Ranch Sunday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (Founders Park). Hours occasionally shift in the heat — worth a quick check before you go.

Coffee's on, dinner's coming. Redshift Coffee is now pouring for real at Plaza El Paseo in RSM (22312 El Paseo, ~7 a.m.–2 p.m.) — the soft-open is behind them. Right next door, The Goldfinch — the California-cuisine-and-cocktails spot expanding down from Irvine — is still on track to open in the same plaza in late summer. Two good reasons to keep an eye on El Paseo.

The summer home stretch. School's back in a few weeks (CUSD and SVUSD both start mid-August), and the free Friday/Sunday concert nights wind down with it. If you've been meaning to catch a Town Green Friday or a Central Park Sunday, the calendar's thinning fast — this weekend and next are the sweet spot. Pack a picnic, get there by six, claim your patch of grass.

Riley Wilderness Park — hiding in plain sight right off Oso Parkway (yep, our namesake creek's road). 544 quiet acres of oak groves, rolling trails, and a one-acre native butterfly garden, open daily 7 a.m. to sunset. Go early to beat the heat, drop $3 to park, and you basically have the whole canyon. A genuinely peaceful reset ten minutes from home.
